Physical Therapist

The school-based Physical Therapist provides assessment of student’s needs based on educational needs and ability to access curriculum as reported by student, student’s family and school-based team. The therapist establishes and implements appropriate physical therapy treatment programs to help students reach their goals. Duties include:

  • Evaluating students and establishing ETR and IEP to include necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, and education as warranted by student needs for successful access to curriculum.
  • Communicating evaluation and progress to school team and student’s family in a timely fashion.
  • Documentation in a manner that is legible, accurate and timely, including evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, patient/family education, outcomes, and charges as needed.
  • Providing appropriate supervisions to students and support staff involved in administering care. Make reccommenations and provide consultation with care team and support staff. Provide supervision of students from accredited schools as needed.

Diagnoses/Concerns Treated:

  • Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, SPD, Learning Disabilities, CVI, Muscular Dystrophy, Functional mobility, Emotional regulation, behavior, attention, coordination and motor skills, sensory motor performance, cognitive and daily living skills, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be Ohio Licensed/License-eligible Physical Therapist
  • Preference will be given to those with pediatric/school-based experience
